Aseel Hashim, MPH, is a dynamic Public Health Policy Analyst and health systems professional committed to advancing equity and dismantling systemic barriers. A graduate of Algoma University (Cum Laude), she has significantly contributed to transformative initiatives at institutions such as the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
As the Founder and President of the BIPOC Outdoor Adventures Health Initiative—the first program in Northwestern Ontario designed to address health inequities among BIPOC students—Aseel secured vital funding with support from Dr. Julie Rosenthall to implement sustainable, research-based wellness programs. Her work in this initiative highlights her dedication to creating inclusive solutions that extend beyond traditional policy analysis.
Additionally, Aseel broadened her expertise in health systems during her MPH practicum at NOSM under the supervision of Dr. Wood. This experience enriched her multidisciplinary approach, positioning her as a leader who seamlessly integrates rigorous research with impactful community advocacy.
